TEAM DEVELOPMENT - A POWERFUL APPROACH

Developing people to improve personal performance is important but all too often effectiveness is reduced and opportunities lost due to individuals 'going it alone' rather than taking a team approach when attempting to achieve business goals.

We have been developing teams and teamwork for many years and helped many of our clients in this area through the application of some fundamental principles that we believe underpin real team effectiveness. Our approach applies to teams at any level - up to and including, board level directors.

The process helps teams find answers to questions under four key stages of development through a combination of training and facilitation. We can also provide powerful outdoor-based development programmes working in partnership with specialist providers.

STAGE ONE: ANALYSIS

• What are we here to achieve?
• How do we currently operate?
• What resources do we have?
• What are our strengths & weaknesses?
• What resources are we lacking?
• How committed are we to improving?

STAGE TWO: PLANNING

• What do we want to improve in terms of task (what we achieve)?
• What do we want to improve in terms of process (how we achieve)?
• What should be (or are) our development goals?
• How are we going to achieve them?
• How are we going to measure our progress (in development terms)?

STAGE THREE: ACTION

• How do we implement our plans?
• What issues are we confronted with?
• How will we address the issues?
• How do we handle success?
• How do we handle failure?
• What different skills, processes or behaviours should we employ?
• How do we review our performance?

STAGE FOUR: REVIEW

• What have we learned as individual team members?
• What have we learned as a team?
• To what extent did we achieve our development goals, and how?
• How do we convert our learning into future practice?
• How will we review our performance?
• How will we continue to develop?
